Stickstoffgenerator …. Our nitrogen generators work according to the PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) system. The compressed air is pressed into an activated carbon canister. Here, the activated carbon absorbs the oxygen and nitrogen is obtained by being conducted into the reservoir. As soon as the activated carbon in the first canister is saturated with oxygen, the pressure is released. At the same time, the second canister is „loaded” with compressed air and the process is repeated.

Why nitrogen?
Under high pressure, the gas is injected into a hot melt that consists of various raw materials. If oxygen, under high pressure, meets heat, oils, waxes, and fats, dangerous reactions can be the result; under these conditions, some plastics might even explode. This is why the simplest inert gas, nitrogen, is used; it contributes almost 80 % to our breathable air. The remaining noble gases as well as the oxygen are filtered out. The above mentioned reactions can also result in oxidations and further chemical processes that will pollute the gas nozzles. Therefore, we use this top-quality system to achieve a purity of at least 98 %. The majority of our generators, however, are adjusted to a purity level of 99,5 %. This requires an amount of compressed air (7 to 10 bar) that is about 4 to 5 times higher than the resulting nitrogen. Our generators are available with a performance volume that ranges between 7 and 48 m³/h. With (220V/2 amp), the power consumption is very low.
